Great examples of 5 of the 9* Campaign Stars that were awarded to British and Commonwealth troops during World War II.
    * Originally only 8 Campaign Stars were minted but the Arctic Star was dedicated in 2012 to Naval, Air and Merchant Marine personnel who served Morth of the Arctic Circle on the Murmansk run supplying the USSR with vitally important materiel for their war effort.
Lesser known facts of these Campaigns:
Atlantic Star: the largest battlefield and arguably the most important battlefront of the War as it was the main supply route far all the European Fronts. See above for the Arctic Star.
Burma Star: Despite the defeat of Japan and Britain's reascension in the area, its two primary colonies Burma and India would be independent within 3 years of the end of the War. India was to fight on both Allied and Axis sides to gain its independence.
Italy Star: 50,000 Indians fought in Italy with nearly a 50 percent casualty rate. Six of the twenty Victoria Crosses won were won by Indian soldiers. Canada was to win 2.
France & Germany Star: More of France was unoccupied and governed by an "independent" Vichy government than that occupied by Nazi Germany.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
