WW1 LIRERTY BOND BOX, BARKER'S PIQUA OHIO, CLOTHING FURNISHINGS AND HATS

Description

This is an original WW1 LIBERTY BOND BOX , these were used to finance the war , it was considered to be non patriot at the time if you did not buy bonds, and as the war progressed so did the pressure to invest in the country. The bonds were sold by the government at 3% interest. This box was used all over the UNITED STATES, USUALLY ,advertising a business that supported the war, which as this one was placed on the outside of this box with an AMERICAN EAGLE ON A SHIELD.Piqua Ohio as most towns at this time where showing support, I have been to Piqua it is a beautiful town in Ohio. This is sort of a rarer box because of the over all condition of the paint  ,being in above good condition. 11'' X 5'' X 3'' DIMENSIONS . Lock works , but no key.
