Listed here is a cool piece of turbomachinery.
I bought this unique item on
Ebay
probably around 2004.
My documentation (
ebay
receipt) is in a storage unit somewhere
but this item is a vintage piece from "Air Research".   Air Research is a part of aerospace history.  This little radial (radial
inflow/
axial exhaust) bladed disk is quite interesting and any turbomachinery geek would love to have it as a conversation piece.
Also, anybody dealing in current designs of a similar nature would probably love to have one of these in their pocket to
make the explanation of design configuration a little easier.
'Very cool, unique piece.
I'm not sure what it's made of – ceramic or
sintered metal maybe.
I have no idea what this might have been a part for but it is reminiscent of the description someone gave me, back in the late '70s, of an airborne, cryogenically cooled radar countermeasure system driven by a small, high speed expander.
Great stocking stuffer for the turbo-geek in your family.
