    DESCRIPTION
Supports Heart Health in Dogs and Cats
Bio-Cardio combines the antioxidant potential of CoQ10 with other cardio-protective nutrients and botanicals. Because Bio-Cardio promotes oxygen utilization, it enhances the animal's physical stamina.
According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, one in 10 dogs suffers from poor cardiovascular health. Bio-Cardio combines the unique antioxidant and cardio-protective qualities of CoenzymeQ10 (CoQ10) with the amino acid taurine, whose support for healthy cardiac function in cats is well established. In addition, other ingredients in Bio-Cardio include L-carnitine, which has been shown to improve appetite and exercise tolerance in dogs; vitamin E, which provides essential antioxidant activity in all tissues including the heart; and magnesium and potassium, which are necessary for healthy cardiac contractility and for maintaining a healthy heart rhythm. Three botanical ingredients – Crataegus laevigata (hawthorn extract) and Terminalia arjuna (arjuna extract), which contribute to healthy heart muscle function, and Eleutherococcus senticosus (eleuthero root extract), an adaptogen that supports physical stamina – are also included in the Bio-Cardio formula.
CoQ10 in animals promotes the utilization of oxygen in the heart and helps maintain the health of the muscular tissue of the heart (the myocardium).
The amino acid L-carnitine promotes cellular energy production in the mitochondria and supports heart muscle metabolism.
Magnesium supports vascular smooth muscle tone. Deficiencies of magnesium and potassium often occur concurrently; therefore, it is essential to replenish both of them. Unlike humans and dogs, cats are unable to synthesize the amino acid taurine, so it must be supplemented.
    Recommended for optimal cardiovascular functioning.
