    Description

    Mead "Ranger" Bicycle Ink Blotter, 1910s, 4.375" x 10". Bike features the model with "the Ranger Coaster Brake". Two color lithography (red and black inks). Blotter has part of upper left corner missing, which took part of the written copy. Image of bike was not affected. The blotter has been used to blot ink on the reverse side. (A practical necessity from the era when quill and fountain pens used very liquid ink; the blotter expedited drying of the ink.) Refer to photos for confirmation of condition.
