A quick update (written on Aug. 9) -- An eBay user noted that the background of this image shows a crane and what is likely some of the framework during the construction of the Matterhorn, which opened at the park in June 1959 -- two months after this photo was developed. The Matterhorn was the first tubular-steel roller coaster in the world.

DESCRIPTION:
This is an amateur photograph taken in 1959 at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, only four years after the amusement park opened. The photo was among a number of snapshots taken when a family's mother was vacationing in California. This image is captioned by the family as "Disneyland 1959" (front) and "Old Horse Drawn Street-Car in Disneyland 1959" (back). Pictured is the street car on a curved track, likely at the center of the theme park. On the street is a man a woman, the latter being a petite blonde (possibly a flight attendant?) holding a satchel that appears to be lettered "Pan Am." In addition to the typed captions identifying the year as 1959, the back of the photograph has a date that shows the photo was developed on April 10, 1959. The photo is on heavy photo paper with a matte finish.
