Very rare and beautiful, ca1900 Native American Sioux Indian Bead Decorated Hide Possible Bag.
This outstanding turn of the 20th century Sioux Possible Bag measures approx. 13 1/2" wide by 9 1/2" and is sinew and thread sewn. One side of the Bag is fully beaded with three vertical lines of geometric designs executed using colors of red white-heart, dark blue, medium blue and black on a chalk white field. The Bag retains its original hide strap handle. The top opening of the Bag features a muslin cloth border and the bottom and sides are framed with a thin, red wool trade cloth trim.

They are NOT reproductions or modern recreations but an original Sioux Beaded Bag crafted around the turn of the 20th century. This very rare and original, ca1900 Sioux Indian Bead Decorated Possible Bag is in very good condition. The beadwork is stunningly beautiful and exceptionally well preserved with no loss or damage. All of the hide elements are well preserved- supple and sound with some age appropriate soiling and light surface wear to the hide on the back of the Bag. There is an old, hand repair to the hide at the lower left hand corner on the back side.
