Very rare and original, ca1900 Native American Plains / Cheyenne Indian Bead Decorated Hide Bag / Drawstring Pouch / Medicine Bag. This outstanding, turn of the 20th century Beaded Bag measures approx. 4 3/4" long and 3 1/4" wide (at its widest point).
This wonderful Plains Indian Beaded Pouch is made of a soft, brain tanned hide and is thread and sinew sewn by hand with beadwork in a meandering line design using chalk white, black and dark blue colored beads. The top edge of the Pouch is trimmed with a patterned red trade cloth border.
The Medicine Bag / Pouch offered here is unconditionally guaranteed original and of the period. It is NOT a reproduction or modern recreation but an original Plains Bead Decorated Hide Bag crafted around the turn of the 20th century. The Bag comes with our “no questions asked” return privilege and our lifetime guarantee of authenticity. This very rare and beautiful, ca1900 Plains / Cheyenne Indian Bead Decorated Bag is in very good condition. All of the hide elements are well preserved - sound and supple with some age appropriate surface wear and soiling. The beadwork is very attractive and exceptionally well preserved with no bead loss or damage of any kind. There is some light wear to the trade cloth at the throat. All elements of the Bag are original and there has been no repairs or restorations.
