ANTIQUE VICTORIAN NATIVE INDIAN BEADS WORK BIRD BASKET FLOWER PIN SEWING CUSHION

Description

An original Native Indian (up to the buyer to decide which tribe or reservation it comes from) made pin cushion, hand created in a very interesting pattern with 2 birds, a basket and a floral leaf with most of the top being white glass beads and accented with a bit of color. The leaves on the sides are white and multi colors. There are various sizes and shapes of beads used. The top is purple velvet fabric while the red on the bottom sides is feels like heavier weight cotton. All the beading on the top seems to be firmly attached and I have not found any beads missing (please see the photos to determine for yourself just in case I missed something): the ones dangling along the sides have some strands missing. As to be expected, there is a bit of wear on some areas of the top fabric. The bottom feels like glazed cotton, there are some stains and overall aging on it, there also looks like there is period scotch tape remains that I find insignificant. Once filled with pine sawdust which I think is still inside, but no longer smells. Please see all photos prior to bidding for condition. Measures approx 8" X 11"X 3.5" which I have found to larger than most. I do not know what it is filled with, it is considerably heavy as it weighs almost 2 lbs.
