    Description

    For sale is a stunning
    Antique Sioux (Lakota) Beaded Lizard Amulet or Navel Cord Holder from circa the 1880s.
    The amulet is made of a native tanned hide, mostly sinew sewn in the shape of a lizard. The upper side is beaded in a design representing a lizard, in bead colors medium green, white, dark blue, and translucent dark rose (cranberry). The belly is made of very thin hide that is dry and torn (see pictures), causing the filling (cotton?) partly to come out.
