    Description

    Native Ametican Beaded Knife Sheath. Old. Soft hide beaded front with rawhide back and tassel. Main sheath measures 9 1/2" long × 3 1/4" wide. Principally sewn with sinew. The turquoise beaded tassel appears to have a cotton thread. Condition: area of bead loss to front left edge and minor beafd loss elsewhere.  Minor stitch loss elsewhere. Pinhole to upper back. Please study photos as part of description and please ask questions if you have them prior to purchasing. The only knowledge of provenance I have for this is that in 1959 this and and other beaded items that I will soon also be listing were loaned to a small museum in Northern California by an older couple.  I purchased this from a nearby estate sale.
