For sale, anANTIQUE (BELIEVE 1915-1930 ERA ? PER FAMILY) NATIVE AMERICAN "PLAINS" REGION (PER FAMILY ESTATE) HAND CRAFTED AND FINELY BEADED 2 SIDED (EARLY SMALLER BEADS) BEADED HANDMADE MENS WALLET (OPENS UP)........QUALITY IS TERRIFIC !!!!!
I am not an expert in old Native
American beadwork....but thought this old beaded wallet was fantastic (that is what family thought it was) and this displays very nicely in person....these came out of an Arizona estate, originally owned by grandparents who lived in Northwest, and it is believed this was bought in the
Dakota
many years ago, based on when the grandparents were collecting items like this....
THIS IS SO TERRIFIC IN PERSON....STRIKING AND VIBRANT COLORS ON THE BEADS.......A DIFFERENT DESIGN ON EACH SIDE......THESE ARE THE TINY BEADS...A FEW MISSING BEADS ONLY AROUND EDGES, BUT BODY IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION........BELIEVE THE LEATHER WALLET WAS HANDMADE AS WELL, AS IT IS CRUDE AND FUNKY......LOVE THE COLORFUL DESIGNS......IT IS LEATHER INSIDE, WHICH IS STILL SUPPLE (see gallery)
THIS SEEMS IN GREAT CONDITION FOR THE AGE.....AND BELIEVE IT IS POSSIBLY "PLAINS" REGION NATIVE AMERICAN (FROM SOUTH DAKOTA REGION?) ....this WALLET has been carefully stored in a cool dry place inside a a picture frame.....THE BEADWORK IS NICE....COULD FIND NO MISSING BEADS.....COLORS ARE VIBRANT.....has not been in sun or exposed to light
Native American fine beadwork 2 sided wallet measures 4" x 9" when opened up, and the leather inside in nice condition, still supple, beads are vibrant, a few missing beads around perimeter, and these are older seed beads, not the bigger ones seen in later beaded work. It is heavy, and a quality pc of Native American art
(please see pictures in gallery) Ruler in couple photos to show size.
